The 5th edition of the SOFINS

From 29 – 30 June to 01 July 2021, the 5th edition of the SOFINS will be held on the Souge camp in Gironde (33). This event is the culmination of a year of meetings and intense work by the members of the Cercle de l’Arbalète.

Unique in Europe, this biannual event is the meeting point of the high-tech industry with the Special Forces and Special Units. During 3 days, small and medium-sized companies and large industrial groups will meet under the aegis of the Cercle de l’Arbalète in order to offer unique solutions adapted to the needs of special operations.

The Souge camp will be transformed for the occasion into a place of meetings and technical demonstrations: dynamic tests of equipment under real conditions will enable innovative manufacturers to demonstrate the added value of their equipment for the operator of today and tomorrow. New this year, a special forces demonstrator…

Finally, the SOFLAB will be added to the exhibition: a space reserved for start-ups selected by the Cercle de l’Arbalète. These start-ups will have the privilege, during a whole morning, to speak in a short format in front of the special forces to present their products.

« The success of the first 4 editions of the SOFINS shows to what extent the evolution of threats requires the search for new technological solutions to meet problems encountered by special forces in the field.

We are counting on you and your presence to demonstrate to the international special forces community the relevance of French industry’s solutions. Let’s live up to the audacity of our special forces ! »

Benoit de Saint Sernin,
President of the Cercle de l’Arbalète

« Power relations are and will still be intense in the future between actors who cultivate permanent innovation. The varied emerging threats resulting from hybrid competition and grey zones confrontations are already the greatest challenges in the field of innovation.
The innovation spirit must govern the adaptation of the COS (commandment of special operations). It constantly leads to imagine, design, test and eventually let others do, especially civilian SMEs and medium-sized companies, what the special forces gave developed and sometimes invented.
This partnership between the civil and the military is an essential key to the success of our operations. The COS is counting on the Cercle de l’Arbalete to capture as quickly as possible and encourage dual or civilian innovation in order to participate in finding the best response to the special forces operational needs of today and tomorrow.

Major General Eric Vidaud,
Commander of the COS (commandment of special operations)
